Au Nguyen – Management Accountant

Au Nguyen graduated bachelor of accounting from RMIT in 2009 and has been working with Figures are Us for four years, and is now enjoying working with the newly expanded company, the FAME Group.

He has had a lot of experience within the not-for-profit sector which he finds very interesting. From preparing financial reports, doing cash flows to audit preparation as well as doing acquittal reports, these experiences are not easy to get if you are working in other fields of accounting.

He likes figures, that’s for sure! However he also enjoys soccer, travel and scientific news.  His music style is quite diverse, but he loves country and folk music.

Meredith Windust – Consultant

meredith

Meredith Windust has been providing financial accounting services to the not-for-profit sector and a number of small businesses since 1998. Her extensive experience in these services stems back to her days at the State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Victoria) which then merged with the VEF to form the Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VECCI) where she held senior accounting, payroll and human resource positions.

In 2000 Meredith founded “Figures are Us” specialising in Not-for-Profits, small business, community and arts organisations covering all their bookkeeping, accounting and human resource requirements.   In August 2013 the business has expanded with new services and is now trading as FAME Group.

Over 25 years Meredith has gained a vast amount of knowledge to do with grants, project accounting, board requirements and audits including the valuable experience working with NFPs.  This encompasses the specialised legal and accounting requirements that is paramount to their industry and which is knowledge that you can’t gain overnight.

Meredith is a strong believer in giving back to society and helping others; for example, she takes on refugees and international students to give them work experience and although she says “It’s hard but rewarding, it also teaches you about  different cultures and broadens your outlook on life.”

In her spare time she is treasurer of the Brighton Kiwanis Club; Kiwanis is a global organisation whose motto is “serving the children of the world”. They run a variety of activities to raise funds for children in need.

Meredith also likes to spend time with her four beautiful grandchildren. Two live in Melbourne and two in Perth, so she heads west when time permits.
